The heartbeat of Snohomish County 911 is a highly trained team of first, first responders behind the scenes, answering 911 emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinating police, fire, and EMS on multiple radio channels, and using advanced technology to guide help to people in crisis, one call at a time.
Call Takers are the first voice on the line, calmly answering 911 and non-emergency calls, asking critical questions, and entering precise information so responders can be sent quickly and safely.
Dispatchers manage the radio side of the incident, coordinating police, fire, and EMS units in real time and using advanced technology to guide responders through fast-changing situations.
Dispatcher supervisors are experienced leaders on the floor who coach and support call takers and dispatchers in real time, ensure procedures are followed, and help manage high-risk or complex incidents as they unfold.
Behind every successful 911 response is a powerful, resilient technology infrastructure and a team of experts who build, maintain, and evolve it.
From strategic leadership and applications to infrastructure, cybersecurity, radio systems, and facilities, our technology professionals ensure that every call is captured, every dispatch is delivered, and every system is ready when it matters most.
Lead the strategy, support, and continuous improvement of public safety software. Roles include Applications Manager and Application Support Analysts ensuring call-taking and dispatch systems remain available and reliable.
Design, build, and maintain the network and server infrastructure that keeps 911 running 24/7. Roles span Security & Infrastructure Manager, Infrastructure Engineers, Systems Engineers, Systems Administrators, and End User Support Specialists.
Install, maintain, and evolve the mission-critical radio networks that connect first responders across 2,196 square miles. Roles include Radio Systems Supervisor, Radio Systems Technicians/Specialists (ECS), and Facilities & Fleet Coordinator.
Maintain the buildings, grounds, and operational assets that support continuous 24/7 emergency communications. Roles include Business Operations Manager and Facilities Coordinator across multiple agency sites.
